Do you know these people? Land O’ Lakes Booth 1965

30 May

May 1965 Tradeshow

Rachelle Hardesty is the new General Manager of the Land O’ Lakes Tourist Association. Her grandmother, Jeanette Whitfield was once the Manager of Land O’ Lakes back in the 1960′s and snapped these photos at a tradeshow. The date is May 1965.  We don’t know the location or who any of the people are with the exception of the man in the yellow shirt- he’s Mac Salmond-former co-owner of the Salmond Brothers Pro Hardware in Cloyne.  Who are the others?

Interesting how guns were displayed at the show back  in the 1960′s! Did you know Land O’ Lakes began in 1943?

Land O' Lakes Coins- 1967

Across  Highway #7 from the tourist office in Kaladar lives long-time resident Graydon MacCrimmon. Graydon brought into the LOLTA office a Land O’ Lakes coin he had as a keepsake for many years. He doesn’t know how many were made or what it was used for- a true mystery. Does anyone know about the history of this beautiful coin? The original LOL logo is present on the coin- this is the only one we’ve seen. Please let us know if you know more.
